A personal portrait session — personal portraits for individuals and couples — is one of three core-strength offerings at One Soul Photography.

For personal portraits, our studio is designed to afford us latitude as creative artists to leave the ordinary behind in bringing your vision to life. Even our traditional portraits are extraordinary.

What's included in a personal portrait session?

Our $499 portrait sessions include

  • Planning meeting in person or via Zoom or phone to discuss the desired result of the session.
  • Studio photography for individuals and couples.
  • Three wardrobe looks per person.
  • Complimentary hair styling and makeup for one. This service is available for additional session participants for an additional fee.
  • Full use of our studio’s boundless portrait photography resources. From our hand-painted portrait walls to our digital backdrop system, we can create any setting imaginable to bring your vision to life.
  • Professional posing guidance to ensure you receive flattering portraits that feature the best version of you.
  • Same-day or separate reveal appointment where you’ll see your portraits for the first time and choose the ones you wish to purchase as prints, wall art, albums and digitals for social media use.

Who are personal portrait sessions for?

Personal portrait sessions are for individuals and couples who want fine-art portraits of themselves for the home — a milestone, an anniversary, or simply a striking, true representation of who you are. What does a personal portrait session include?

Your $499 session includes a planning meeting, complimentary professional hair styling and makeup for one, up to three looks per person, up to two hours of studio photography, full use of our studio's portrait resources, professional posing guidance, and a same-day or separate reveal and ordering appointment.

Is the planning meeting required?

Yes. We never begin a session without a consultation — in person, or via Zoom or phone — to understand your vision and make sure we share a clear picture of the outcome. The planning meeting aligns us on wardrobe, mood, sets, and the portraits you want most.

I'm not photogenic. Can you still get good photos of me?

You don't need modeling experience to look great in your portraits. We coach you through every pose and expression from start to finish, and our beauty team helps you feel polished and camera-ready. Most clients walk in nervous and walk out genuinely surprised by how comfortable the experience felt.

How long does the session take?

Studio time depends upon session objectives, but generally plan on an hour or so of photography. Add 30–60 minutes with the beauty team beforehand. If you choose a same-day reveal and ordering appointment, add two hours afterward; some clients set their reveal for a separate day.

What happens after the session?

You'll choose your images at a same-day or separate reveal and ordering appointment. Once payment is completed, digital reproductions of your selected images are delivered via Dropbox right away. Physical prints, wall art, and albums are produced and delivered after your order is placed.
